Ajmal Samuel Foundation
At 21, Ajmal Samuel's life drastically changed following a road accident that left him paraplegic while he served in the Pakistan Armed Forces. Doctors expressed doubt about his ability to sit up straight again, let alone return to an active, sporty lifestyle. Despite the grim prognosis, the unwavering support from his family, friends, and doctors encouraged Ajmal not to surrender to despair. His journey of reinvention required immense effort and determination. Initially working as a backroom computer repair technician, Ajmal went on to become the Founder and CEO of a financial technology company. He didn’t stop there; he also became a national-level endurance athlete, excelling in rowing, handcycling, and triathlons. Ajmal finds the greatest fulfilment in inspiring others to chase their dreams, demonstrating that his wheelchair serves not as a limitation but as a means to soar.
To extend his impact, Ajmal established the Ajmal Samuel Foundation (ASF) with the vision of using sports to empower people to achieve their aspirations, fostering a sense of pride, accomplishment, and confidence. ASF aims to promote inclusivity among everyone, regardless of their physical abilities, age, or experience level, to enhance physical and emotional health. At present, ASF focuses on fundraising for charities that share its mission and values and collaborates with partner organisations to offer its services. Through these efforts, ASF aims to cultivate a community where individuals are supported by their families, friends, and communities to lead active and fulfilling lives.
